New Bristol Temple Meads Entrance Opening in Time for Students in 2026
Construction is now complete on the new Eastern Entrance at Bristol Temple Meads and is set to open to the public in September 2026, just in time to welcome students for the new academic year.
Located on University Square, the entrance will provide a direct link between Bristol Temple Meads and the University of Bristol’s new Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus. For students at Timber Yard, this means faster, easier connections to the city centre and destinations across the UK.
Improving Access for East Bristol
Part of a £23 million investment, the new entrance will dramatically improve access to and from the east of Bristol, connecting the Temple Quarter area and nearby neighbourhoods directly to the station.
The works involved extending the existing subway beneath platforms 13 and 15 and creating a brand-new structure that opens onto the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus. Once open, it’s expected to serve over 2.5 million passengers a year by 2030, offering a smoother journey for commuters, residents and students alike.
The Perfect Connection for Timber Yard Residents
When the new entrance opens next year, students at Timber Yard will be able to walk directly from their accommodation to Bristol Temple Meads along Feeder Road, making travel to campus, home, or weekend trips easier than ever. This new connection not only improves convenience but also enhances the sense of community and accessibility that defines life at Timber Yard.
As the Temple Quarter redevelopment continues to expand, Timber Yard residents can look forward to being at the centre of Bristol’s most exciting new neighbourhood, with excellent transport links, modern student living, and world-class education all within a 15-minute walk.
