Bristol-based university students are being given the opportunity to win accommodation for a year of their studies.
The highly-anticipated Timber Yard student accommodation is in the final phases of construction, and one lucky student will win a Standard Ensuite Room for the 2026-27 academic year, representing a saving of thousands of pounds.
The accommodation is being developed by award-winning developers StudioHIVE and will officially open in the heart of Bristol in September 2026. It is conveniently located just 10 minutes from the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus with students enjoying canal-side living and a host of indoor and outdoor amenities.
The competition is the second of its kind, with the first competition winner recently announced as University of Bristol law student Thiranya Hettiarachchi, who will be moving into Timber Yard later this Summer.
Eligible students simply need to complete the online entry form before Sunday 9 August to be in with a chance of winning.
Homes for Students will be operating the building, with Josh Picton, taking the helm as general manager. He said: “We’re thrilled someone will have the opportunity to win a full year of free accommodation at Timber Yard. We know how important affordable, high-quality living is for students, and this competition is a fantastic way to support someone during their university experience. We’re looking forward to seeing entries come in and announcing the lucky winner later this summer.

Thiranya Hettiarachchi, who won a previous competition for a year of accommodation, said: “I’m incredibly grateful to have won, it will help set me up for my early career so it’s hard to put into words what this means to me.
“I’m really excited about Timber Yard because it’s a new build and everything has been so intentionally designed. I can really see myself living and studying here.”
Timber Yard will be operated by Homes for Students on behalf of StudioHIVE. It is set to become one of Bristol’s most distinctive student living destinations, combining quality living space and 25 internal and external amenity spaces including a gym, games room, roof terrace and basketball area. Its canal side location and far-reaching views will provide a peaceful setting for busy students.
